HostPapa is a privately held Canadian web hosting company founded in 2006 by Jamie Opalchuk and based in Burlington, Ontario. Its customer-facing services include shared hosting, managed WordPress hosting, VPS, dedicated servers, reseller hosting, domain registration, business email, and the PapaCare+ managed support service.

The company has expanded aggressively through acquisitions. After acquiring CloudBlue from Ingram Micro in 2025, HostPapa added Tailor Made Servers and Hostwinds within two days of each other in April 2026. These deals extended the wider HostPapa group beyond small-business hosting into dedicated infrastructure, cloud VPS, white-label services, and subscription commerce technology.

HostPapa is one of our preferred options for Canadian buyers. Performance has been good in our tests, and we appreciate its clearly specified dedicated-server plans. The hardware and pricing details make those plans easier to evaluate.

Pricing is our main reservation. HostPapa can be expensive, so the plan's resources and service scope need to justify the cost. We would keep it on the shortlist for suitable Canadian projects while comparing the full ongoing expense carefully.
